Laing O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology

Dr Kasun Kariyawasam's PhD research at the University of Cambridge was shortlisted for The Engineer UK Magazine's Collaborate to Innovate Awards 2020 for its significant contribution with respect to the future needs and possibilities of structural health monitoring. Finalists for the Information, Data & Connectivity category "have proven their expertise in predicting bridge failure, air quality monitoring and monitoring oil and gas pipelines," reports Jason Ford for The Engineer. The Laing O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology and Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction carried out the new vibration-based scour monitoring deployments and a series of geotechnical centrifuge tests in collaboration with Bradford Metropolitan Council, Gaist Solutions, and TMS Maritime Ltd.

Congratulations Kasun and team!
