Biography

Dr Danny Murguia is a Senior Research Associate at the Laing O’Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology, where he is leading a research programme aimed at developing new and improved methods for measuring the performance of major infrastructure and building construction projects. He holds a PhD in Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University, where he was awarded the Doctoral Research Excellence Award for the outstanding quality of work during the doctoral studies. He has a background in Civil Engineering and over twelve years of industry experience in construction project management. He has led design and construction teams in the delivery of major residential and commercial buildings in Peru. His areas of research include the adoption of BIM and off-site construction, the synergies of BIM and Lean construction, as well as performance assessment in organisations and projects. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a Project Coordinator of the Macro Adoption Project at BIM Excellence. He is passionate about transforming construction, the adoption of digital technologies, big data analytics for decision-making, and modern methods of construction.
