Asitha Rathnayake is a PhD candidate supervised by Professor Campbell Middleton and advised by Dr Kristen MacAskill. He is expected to graduate in 2024. Asitha holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, where he was awarded the following awards among others:
• Special Award for Academic Excellence in Civil Engineering for obtaining the 2nd highest overall GPA of 3.7 and above
• Construction Engineering and Management Award for obtaining the highest GPA of 3.7 and above at the first attempt for the specified Construction Engineering subjects
In addition, he has won the all-island 2nd place at the "Manamperi Award for the Best Inter-university Final Year Undergraduate Project in Engineering" by Sri Lanka's Association for the Advancement of Science. His project was titled "Performance Measurement Tools for Sri Lankan Contractors."
At the University of Cambridge, Asitha is working on developing a Productivity Measurement framework for Construction Projects in the United Kingdom. He is a member of Churchill College.
