Biography
Dr Zhengyang Ling is a Research Associate at the Laing O’Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology, where he focuses on automated performance and productivity measurement using digital technologies, AI, and automation. Prior to this, he worked at the Institute for Manufacturing on automated design for digital manufacturing, low-cost vision systems, and industrial robotic assembly. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds. Dr Ling has a background in Mechatronics Engineering and over three years of industry experience in powertrain development. His research interests include the design and development of intelligent systems for digitalisation and automation, integrating computer vision, data-driven digital solutions, artificial intelligence, and customised robotics to enable autonomous manufacturing and construction.
