Can satellites help us predict infrastructure collapses? | Sakthy Selvakumaran | TEDxNewnham

Sakthy Selvakumaran MA (Cantab) MEng CEng MICE on TEDx: Can satellites help us predict infrastructure collapses?

Sakthy, one of our Laing O'Rourke Centre students is currently undertaking an Industrial Case PhD sponsored by the National Physical Laboratory, with additional sponsorship from Laing O'Rourke, on risk and resilience of infrastructure through remote measurement and monitoring of assets using satellites.  Her research is focussed on investigating advances in satellite radar measurement technologies and understanding their relevance, utilisation, and limitations to civil engineering applications, such as bridge or embankment monitoring following significant events such as flooding.
