Researchers from the Cambridge Laing O’Rourke Centre represented the Centre at the joint International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC) and International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC) Conference, hosted by the National University of Singapore.
Dr Danny Murguia, Dr Ashan Asmone and Dr Zhengyang Ling contributed to the conference through keynote and plenary presentations, sharing research on the use of data, artificial intelligence and digital technologies to support improved construction monitoring and performance measurement.
Dr Murguia contributed as a panellist in the PhD Summer School and delivered a keynote presentation exploring the intersection of data, artificial intelligence, performance metrics and process flow for construction site monitoring.
Dr Asmone’s research paper was selected for a plenary session, where he presented his work on the use of digital technologies to monitor construction workflows and identify process waste.
Dr Zhengyang Ling presented ongoing research on digital technologies for automated productivity measurement and disruption monitoring in construction.
These contributions reflect the Centre’s research ambition to transform construction through data-driven decision-making, combining real-time monitoring, AI-powered analytics and robust performance metrics to enable more proactive, informed and effective project delivery.
