Laing O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology

The Laing O’Rourke Centre and its partners at the University of Cambridge are proud to be part of the successful consortium, led by Laing O’Rourke, which was awarded £22.1m as part of the Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI).

Professor P. John Clarkson FREng, from the Cambridge Engineering Design Centre, commented: "The Cambridge Team bring together expertise and skills from the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) and the Engineering Design Centre (EDC). This enables a focus not only on the support of early-stage design decision making with regard to design for manufacture, but also on the impact of product and process architectures across multi-disciplinary, multi-company systems on design outcomes. The appropriate and coordinated partitioning of the system design, manufacture and assembly across teams and organisations will lead to more resilient and desirable products and delivery processes."
