Laing O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology

The Laing O'Rourke Centre & Construction Engineering Master's teams would like to say a huge congratulations to 3 incredible & influential women engineers linked to our CEM who have been awarded the Top 50 Women in Engineering 2021 accolade by the Women in Engineering Society.

It is fantastic to see among a list of passionate and talented engineers a previous CEM Course Director  alongside  a major contributor and a current student of the Master's course.

Dr Kirsten MacAskill was an inspirational director of the unique Construction Engineering Master's leadership course for the construction sector from 2016 until 2020 and remains closely connected with programme.

Alongside Kirsten, two other winners of this year's award are Hannah Vickers who is a member of the Construction Leadership Council and contributor to our CEM programme, and Dr Claire Bennett who is a leading expert in flood & rail protection and is a current student on our CEM programme.
