Biography

Qianchen Sun is a PhD student supervised by Dr Mohammed Elshafie and advised by Prof Campbell Middleton. Qianchen is a member of Darwin College. His research aims at developing an anomaly-detection system based on concrete hydration within cast in-situ structures using fibre optic sensors. His research project is performed in the framework of ITN-FINESSE, funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action.

Qianchen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he was awarded Outstanding Student of Faculty of Construction and Environment and Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship.
