Biography

Mahendrini Ariyachandra was a PhD Student in Engineering at the Construction Information Technology group of the Laing O'Rourke Centre, sponsored by the Cambridge Commonwealth European and International Trust (Cambridge Trust) and Bentley Systems (UK) Limited. She graduated in 2021. Mahendrini holds a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, where she was awarded the "Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award." She has working experience as a lecturer in Quantity Surveying at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and as a lecturer in Construction Economics at the British Centre of Applied Studies, Doha, Qatar. Her research project for the PhD was focused on the Automated Generation of Geometric Digital Twins of Existing Rail Infrastructure. She was supervised by Dr Ioannis Brilakis and advised by Prof Campbell Middleton. Mahendrini is an  alumna of Lucy Cavendish College.
