Construction Engineering Masters Structure

Teaching is delivered through a series of seven intensive residential weeks in Cambridge - four weeks in the first year and three weeks in the second year.

A typical residential week includes:

  • Lectures, panels, seminars and workshops delivered by experts from academia, industry and the public sector
  • Presentations and group exercises
  • Meetings with supervisors and the Director of Studies

Class discussion is a key feature of the sessions, where learning comes not just through the lecture material but through the shared experience and reflections of the cohort.

Other key events in the two year calendar include:

  • An annual dissertation conference which provides students the opportunity to present their work to peers, academics and industry representatives.
  • An annual, formal debate in the prestigious debating chamber of the world’s oldest debating society, the Cambridge Union Society.
