Marianna  Kopsida

Ph.D. Student, expected graduation in 2016


Ms. Kopsida is currently a PhD student at the Construction Information Technology group of the Laing O'Rourke Centre, as a Marie Curie fellow. She has obtained a Master of Science degree in Engineering Project Management and a MEng-Beng in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her current research topic is on augmented reality using mobile cameras to overlay a BIM model on real world view. The scope of the research is to further develop and enhance the acquisition of indoor as-built information, which will be directly compared against the as-planned Building Information Model (BIM) in real time. The topic aims to assist inspection and progress monitoring for interior activities in a construction project. Marianna is a member of Lucy Cavendish College. She is supervised by Dr. Ioannis Brilakis and advised by Prof. Kenichi Soga. She is a visiting scholar at the Georgia Institute of Technology supervised by Prof. Patricio Vela.
