Biography
Dr Aritra Pal is a Research Associate at the Laing O’Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology, where he is leading the research initiatives on digital methods for monitoring and controlling construction performance. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering specializing in Construction Automation from National Taiwan University, where he was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Award for outstanding scholastic achievement. His work is centred around computer vision, building information management, and project control. Notably, his research interests encompass automated construction progress monitoring, digital twin construction, and the application of artificial intelligence in construction management.
Dr. Pal is an accomplished professional with a diverse research, teaching, and construction industry background. Besides research expertise, Dr. Pal has four years of experience managing multi-million dollar construction projects in India and the Middle East and two years of experience teaching construction management programs in India. Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Aritra Pal is actively engaged in professional affiliations and services. As an ad-hoc reviewer for esteemed journals and conferences, he contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
