The Centre will make available funding for a number of PhD Studentships undertaking research at the Department of Engineering. Funds may also be available for visiting researchers from industry.
Research will be overseen by a Core Academic Team (and individuals from other areas of research).
There will be a mix of project types and durations within a 5-year rolling framework agreement. Proposals will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and co-funded. Types of project will include:
- 3-4 year PhD projects
- Shorter projects and PhD case studies
- 1-2 year knowledge exchange projects
- Consulting assignments
The will be opportunities for Laing O'Rourke technical staff to work in the University as Visitors to the Department of Engineering in order to build joint research teams.
